Terms of Use

1. Digital product and license

Purchasing a case grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and play that case for private entertainment. No ownership of the underlying content, artwork, text, code, puzzles, trademarks, or other intellectual property is transferred to you.

2. Eligibility

You must have legal capacity to enter into a purchase in your jurisdiction. If you are below the age required to contract independently, you must obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian before purchasing or using the Service.

3. Access codes

Access codes are issued for legitimate use of the purchased case. You may not sell, publicly post, mass-share, sublicense, trade, or distribute an access code. We may suspend or disable a code when we reasonably believe it has been obtained fraudulently, resold, publicly shared, used to bypass access controls, or otherwise used in material breach of these Terms.

If access is suspended in error, contact us and we will review the issue.

4. Prohibited use

You may not reproduce or redistribute substantial portions of the game; publish solutions, evidence files, or paid materials in a way that substitutes for purchasing the case; reverse engineer or circumvent technical access restrictions; interfere with the Service; use automated tools to scrape or overload the Service; or use the Service for unlawful purposes.

5. Payment and delivery

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider identified at checkout. The current price and any applicable charges are shown before purchase. Digital access is normally provided immediately after successful payment through an access code or player portal link. Processing or network delays may occasionally occur.

6. Refunds

Digital purchases are subject to our Refund Policy. Except where required by law or expressly stated in that policy, purchases are final once digital access has been issued or access to the case has begun.

7. Service availability and changes

We may perform maintenance, security updates, bug fixes, or reasonable changes to the Service. We may also modify or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, technical operation, or product development. We will not intentionally remove a purchaser’s core paid access without a valid reason.

8. Intellectual property

THE 13TH STATION, its case names, story materials, designs, graphics, text, puzzles, documents, and software are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the personal-use license granted above, all rights are reserved.

9. Your equipment and connection

You are responsible for maintaining a compatible device, supported browser, internet connection, and any normal data or connectivity charges required to use the Service. We do not guarantee identical performance on every device, browser extension, network, or configuration.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided for entertainment. We do not guarantee that every player will solve the case, interpret every clue in the same way, or complete the experience within the estimated play time. To the extent permitted by law, we do not accept responsibility for interruptions or failures caused by third-party networks, payment providers, hosting providers, user devices, or events outside our reasonable control.

11. Limitation of liability

Where our liability arises from ordinary negligence, our aggregate liability for direct damages relating to a purchased case is limited, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to the amount you paid for that case. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability arising from our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when reasonably necessary. Material changes will apply prospectively and will be reflected by an updated date on this page. Mandatory rights that already apply to a completed purchase are not reduced by a later update.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply in your place of residence.
